Students have been finishing up projects they've worked on for the past few months. We only meet one or two 45 minute periods per week, so it's been taking a while. We've been focusing on basic design skills, value, shading & blending with paint & colored pencils. Students have also learned how to draw something & edit it in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator. Connected with this is learning the silk screening process and what designs would be good for marketing. Trips have also been going on...we went on our 1st Blick art trip Nov 22nd, went to Museo del Barrio on Dec 9th, and are going back to Blick art Dec 22nd. Different students go on each trip, and pay their own subway fare. The trips are proving to be good incentives for students to do better academically. This Saturday, Dec 10th, Winterfest at MS #4....We've been working overtime to roll out new art for sale. This year we've got a strong group of character designers and have been editing them for silk screens. Students have been learning Photoshop & Illustrator basics, and are picking up the silk screening process pretty quickly. Our groups continue to grow every week...come out if you can & support us Saturday!!
