Bright Street Art Happenings:
1st & 2nd Marking Period 2012
These are just a few of the projects we've been working on thus far.
Our gym teacher Ms. Love has been teaching our students how to play volleyball during the 2nd marking period. The only thing missing is a volleyball net. Ms. Marino and her students came to her aide before Christmas break and worked collaboratively to create a rubber band net. Bright Street was fortunate to have gotten a large supply of rubber bands, and we put them to practical use. Students learned how to weave and connect the bands to create a working net! The ball will even bounce off the net due to it's elasticity!
2011-2012 School Year
Since March I've had the chance to work with Bright Street Academy, an alternative middle/high school in the Jersey City Public Schools. Every Thursday & Friday we've worked on various graffiti/urban art projects. Some of our favorites were learning to sew Ugly Dolls, airbrushing & spray painting pillows & canvas boards, and airbrushing tattoos.
