Airbrushing 101
After a year of ups and downs, the group finaly got into airbrushing! Using money raised from art sales, we were able to purchase airbrushes, paint & a compressor. We also contracted with a local artist, Uta Brauser from Fish with Braids Gallery to teach us how to use & care for our airbrushes.
Airbrushing with Ms. Marino
The students were so excited about airbrushing, Ms. Marino scheduled class sessions during the last week of school. Students came down in groups of three and had a full hour to play around with the airbrush, learn how to control it, make lines, do shading, and use stencils. The students picked up the skills quickly and were independent in cleaning out the airbrushes to use multiple colors on their paper. It was interesting to observe...students demonstrated different skills almost immediately...some were good at freehand writing, some at varying line width, and others with shading.
