Time: 1-3pm
We will be taking a walking trip to see the artwork of The none & NTEL at 58 Gallery. Since we are currently working on an illustrative graffiti design, the show should give us some visual ideas. Students will also be able to purchase needed art supplies at Hudson Art Supply store.

Moma PS1 and 5Ptz, Long Island City, NY (Queens)

As a reward for improved behavior and academics during the 2010-2011 school year, students in the Urban Art program will visit MoMA PS1, a contemporary art museum and 5 Pointz, an outdoor graffiti museum that are within walking distance from each other. Students will be introduced to contemporary art of emerging artists, as well as view legally painted aerosol art from legendary artists worldwide. The trip will encourage students to continue developing their artistic skills, while emphasizing how they can use their talent for profit and non-profit in legal spaces.
We will be taking the Path train to WWC & transfer to the "E" train to Queens (Long Island City). MOMA PS1 is located at 22-25 Jackson Ave & 5 Pointz is located at 45-46 Davis Street.

We will stop at Blick Art Supply to purchase art materials and stop in Washington Square Park to sketch and take photographs. Students will have the opportunity to see the NYU campus, and if time, Parson's School of Design.
Bring money for the Path train ($3.50) & lunch. Bring spending money for anything you may want to purchase.

We will be exhibiting artwork as well as selling original prints, funky graffiti jewelry & keychains, and doing airbrush tattoos. There will also be a graffiti name raffle, face painting, open mic, live music, and hamburgers/hotdogs for sale. Urban art students need a signed permission slip to work with us for the day. Students will earn community service hours by participating.
