Trips To: Pearl Paint & SoHo
Dates:  April 4th, 2012
             May 16th, 2012

Students will take public transportation to NYC to learn how to get to & purchase art supplies at Pearl Paint.  We will also walk through the Canal Street area & SoHo to view street art and galleries.

Cost: $3 for transit.  Bring $ for lunch and spending

Trip To: City Quilter
Date: Feb 27, 2012
Time: 9:30-3:00

Students will take public transportation to NYC to go to the City Quilter on 25th street.  We will learn how to make & sew tote bags.  Sewing workshop will be 3 hrs. Prior to trip students will create hand painted fabric to make totes out of.

Cost: $3.00 for Path Train

Trips To:  FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) & the City Quilter, NYC

Dates:   Trip 1: January 18, 2012
            Trip 2: March 27, 2012
            Trip 3: May 24, 2012

Students will take public transportation into NYC to go to the Fashion Institute of Technology Museum & the City Quilter.  Students will view fashion collections of famous designers, and will have the chance to sketch or photograph some of the designs for use in class.  Students will also have the opportunity to buy specialty designer fabric for their silk screen and sewing projects, and view art quilts at the City Quilter on 25th street.

Cost:  $3 transit fare.  Either bring bagged lunch or buy lunch.  Bring spending $ for City Quilter.

Museo del Barrio, NYC

December 9th, 2011   (9:30am-3pm)
Trip to Museo del Barrio to see the current "S" files, street art show.

We will take the Path to WTC & catch the #6 train uptown to East Harlem. Students need to bring a bagged lunch.  Cost per student is $8 (for transit & museum).
Blick Art Supply Trips:  NYC
Nov. 22nd  & Dec. 20th  (9:30am-3pm)

We will be taking the Path train into NYC, getting off at 9th street & walking across town to the East Village.  Cost per student is $3 (transit)
This is an opportunity to purchase art supplies & view various street art & architecture along the way.  Students get a 10% discount on all art supplies.
On the Dec 20th trip we lucked out and were able to see a gallery showing of "Plushies" or "Softies".  We have been working on our own at school and were excited to see this show!  We also had time to visit the Kid Robot store in SoHo. 
  Students must be in good academic & behavioral standing to participate.
