On Monday, students in the after school airbrushing class showed off their skills. Students used hand cut stencils & airbrushes to create 3-D bubbles.

Saturday was another successful event for the Urban Art Crew. Who wouldn't want to hang out, draw, eat cookies & see Santa (Mr. Conroy). We had a lot of good artists on hand to draw out graffiti names & sell artwork. Thanks to all who volunteered and to those who supported us!! Hey all, this Saturday, Dec 11th, MS #4 will be holding it's Winter Art & Music Festival from 9am-12pm (at MS #4). The Urban Art Group will be selling graffiti style items and drawing custom names on airbrushed/spray painted backgrounds ($3 each). Also, students will have original artwork for sale (prices set by students). Monies earned from name drawings & graffiti items will go to group to purchase more airbrush paint & supplies. Monies earned from student art will go to the artist...as we are learning how to market, sell and make a profit from our art. Come down & support us.
MS #4 is located at 107 Bright Street, Jersey City, NJ I know you guys have been waiting all wkend to see the photos from the trip! It was really really cold, and we did a lot of walking, but we had tons of fun. We took the Path into the city and walked up to Canal Street. We shopped at Pearl Paint Art Supply, checked out some shops on the street in China town, and walked up Broadway to Pearl River Mart. Here students were able to check out unique Chinese items. (Lots of great ideas here for art projects). After this we walked thru some of SoHo and Jose & Christian spotted Owen Wilson riding on his bike right next to us! We also saw some cool street art that relates to our current mixed media project. It was a visually stimulating trip for all of us. |
