Students created & cut out their own stencils to use with the airbrush. Stencils are an easy way to introduce basic airbrushing techniques such as how to hold it & spray.

Students airbrushed their stencils today. Awesome!
The group received a donation...a Scorpion airbrush compressor. We couldn't wait until the spray booth arrived, and we tried it out. In between silk screening, students are cutting their own stencils to airbrush. Mr. santiago's class was the 1st to try out the new compressor. We're getting back to work...this week we have lots of silk screen designs to burn & begin printing, and new projects to start. Tuesday some of us are going into the city to FIT & the City Quilter to be inspired & pick up unique material for our projects. Lots of upcoming events & activities! Stay tuned...
Without going into detail it's been a very trying week for the art therapy/urban art program at MS#4. But thanks to all the support from students, parents & teachers, we worked thru some difficult emotions together. I am in awe of the love and support the students and staff at MS#4 have for me, and it solidified the fact that this is my home.
Below are pictures from the week. What I love to see...my art room full of students! |
I love art and can't imagine my life without it! I've been working with students in Jersey City for the past 13 yrs~ doing what I love. My students inspire me, and I hope I return the inspiration back. ~Ms. Marino Archives
